THE WINDOW LOVE STORY - 2

Almost six months after I first met her, I found myself completely immune to the consequences of our love-hate relationship. The filthiest of her slangs seemed like X-rays, passing through but with no effect whatsoever. The not-so-good thing was that she was immune too. None of my words seemed to have bothered her in any way. We were like kittens hurling over each other for no particular reason. Instead of ‘moving on’, we just moved on with whatever was happening. All the pain that was choked up inside, used to come out in anger and frustration. This was one of my deadly replies to her letter.

Darling,

……

With a pin and a sword
And an arrow and a dart,
Why the hell you’ve done
An autopsy of my heart…

I thought you were sweet
Not sour like a lemon,
You looked like an angel
You rather were a demon…

I always was the first
To tell you I love you,
You never said it first
Always “love you too”…

When I spoke of a girl
You made my mouth shut,
If I stared at any
You kicked me in the butt…

When I made you a pizza
Your menu had the dosa,
I brought you kachori
You wanted a samosa…

Your notes were like yuck!
Still I used to write,
While you were on the bed
Snoring whole night…

I showed you a path
You went the other way,
Everything I liked
You detested straight away…

You didn’t even care
What all had I felt,
Blew up everything
That could’ve been dealt…

My wallet went lean
With every single day,
The money spent on you
Will your dad come and pay?

You took away my heart
And played with it a lot,
What do you think?
It’s a basketball or what?

The air that I breathe
Is now stinking and foul,
You make me feel as if
A skunk is on the prowl…

Enough of the troubles
Enough of the pain,
Holding on to you
My efforts went in vain…

To play your game well
Was never on your part,
The only thing u left
Is a scar on my heart…

No more can I state
No more can I tell,
My heart cries out loud
Why don’t you go to hell?

….

Goodbye sweetheart!
Mani

I wrote my heart out. Feelings from every nook and corner of the heart were copied on the paper just to let her know what all I had suffered. But the only thing that seemed to have bothered her is the ‘money’ thing.

Early morning the very next day, there was a knock at the door. I opened it to find her standing right in front of me. I didn’t expect her. Before I could utter a single word from my mouth, she slapped a credit card on my face and disappeared…
